Budgeting is a key practice that helps people and organisations manage their money well. By making a budget, you can track your income and expenses. This allows you to allocate funds properly to meet your needs and goals. Budgeting increases your financial awareness and responsibility. It helps you spot areas where you can cut costs or save for future plans, like education, buying a home, or retirement. It also helps you avoid debt by giving you a clear picture of your spending habits and guiding better decisions. A well-made budget is essential for financial stability and peace of mind.

assessment health

1. Kia ora and good morning, this week in health, we have to do an assessment about death, dying, and the afterlife. In this unit that we have been learning about all term, we’ve been learning all stages of dying and grief. We now know that grief comes in many different stages, and different things can happen at different times.

2. I have chosen to investigate the topic of famous deaths. Specifically, I will focus on the death of Osama bin Laden. This event had been well planned and executed, also I’m doing titan.

3. Osama bin Laden’s body was buried at sea within 24 hours of his death, in accordance with Islamic tradition. This was done to prevent his burial site from becoming a shrine. Also, the death of Osama Bin Laden was a highly planned and executed. On May 2nd, 2011, a team of highly trained Navy SEALs stormed and raided a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where Osama Bin Laden was hiding. The plan was so coordinated that it was executed in under forty minutes.

4. In this unit, I demonstrated respect for various cultural beliefs. I try not to mock these beliefs; instead, I read about them with an open mind. I made an effort to learn about their traditions and values. This assessment improves my understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.

5.  Taking care of your hauroa is very important when we’re going through change, loss, and or grief. Te Whare Tapa Wha comprises physical health, mental health, family connections, and spiritual health. Keeping your physical health to help with stress and seeking support from friends and family is important.

Purerehua blog

Kia ora and good morning, bloggers. Today in science, I’m going to be talking to you about the Purerehua that my class made out of cardboard.

The pererehua was made to conect to your ancestors.

The disign on my purerehua was just random lines.

when i spun fast my Purerehua it makes a loud sound and when i spun it it makes a quiet sound.

When you spin the Purerehu fast, the amplitude goes up and the volume is and it’s the complete opposite.

power plants

Kia Ora and good afternoon, bloggers. Today in science, we have to make a blog post about our power plant we made last week. I teamed up with Eljah

That is a photo of our power plant.

My solar power plant generates electrical energy from thermal.

Yes, solar energy is considered renewable. The sun is always shinning and so it is a source of energy that will always be available. As a result, solar panels can continuously generate power.

sound

Kia Ora and good afternoon, today in science we are talking about the ear and what is inside the ear.

Three parts of the brain are called the ear canal, ear eardrum and the cochlea.

dissolving

Kia Ora and good afternoon bloggers today in science we learnt about dissolving.

When salt dissolves in water, temperature and movement play important roles. Adding salt to cold water makes it dissolve slowly. The cold water molecules surround the salt ions and break the bonds that hold sodium and chloride together. Because the water molecules move slower in cold water, the salt takes longer to dissolve.

In hot water, the process is much faster. The higher temperature increases the speed of the water molecules, which helps them interact with the salt crystals more effectively. This means the salt breaks apart and dissolves more quickly in hot water.\

Stirring hot water also helps dissolve salt faster. When you stir, it creates movement and spreads the salt throughout the water. This movement increases the chances of water molecules colliding with salt particles, which helps them dissolve more quickly. Using hot water and stirring can quickly turn a pile of salt into a dissolved solution. Overall, temperature and movement are key to how salt dissolves in water, showing how science impacts our daily lives.

I made a Google drawing that shows how salt dissolves in water,  showing the way the salt and water molecules interact.

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you have a fantastic rest of your day, adiós

Effects of Heat

Kia Ora and good afternoon bloggers today in science we were told to make a blog about the four experiments that we’ve done and they are diffusion, contraction, conduction and convention

In the diffusion experiment, we used two Petri dishes, warm water, cold water, and potassium permanganate.

We added the potassium permanganate crystal into the water the potassium permanganate started to spread and it was fascinating the way it dissolved because it was like a firework.

In the contraction experiment, we used hot plates, ice cream containers, Sprite cans, water, and scissors tongs.

We turned on the hot plate then we filled up the ice cream container with water and the Sprite can with water. After the hot plate is hot enough Cole carefully using the scissor tongs puts the can on the hot plate. We waited about five minutes until the water in the can was steaming and quickly put the can in the ice cream container full of water which made the can squash together.

In the conduction experiment, we used a Bunson burner, tripod, beaker, water, and ice.

First, we turned on the Bunson burner to get it ready to melt the ice, then we put the tripod over top of the Bunson burner to hold the beaker full of water then we pulled the beaker that was full of water on the tripod. We waited for the water the boil and then put a piece of ice in the water.

In the convention experiment, I wasn’t here for that experiment but I’ll tell you what everyone else

First, we used a Bunson burner then we put a beaker full of water and then we used a straw to place a potassium permanganate crystal In the beaker then they watched the potassium permanganate crystal dissolve.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have an amazing rest of your day. Bye!

Marshmallow tower

Kia ora and good afternoon, bloggers. Today in health, we made a tower out of marshmallows, and it was really fun. However, here are some questions that our teacher asked us to answer.

I hope you have an amazing rest of your day bye.

Drama

Kia ora and good morning, bloggers. In today’s blog, we are going over my favourite thing that we have done over the eight weeks.

Silent movies, silent movies are movies but you make no noise the only thing you’re supposed to hear is the background music.

The silent movies were fun to make because I played the outlaw and I got to shoot people and flip the table.

I am an eight-year and so that means next year I can join groups and these are groups that I can join music, art evenings, hip hop, theatre sports, rock quests, polyfest, Hollywood dance,, kapa haka, Filipino youth groups and voices with soul.

Forensics Blog

Kia ora and good afternoon bloggers today In science we were asked to create a blog about the subject that we have been learning about forensics science. We could work with a buddy so I decided to work with Cole and Cole did every first question and I did every second question.

These were the rules we had to follow.

You can work with one friend or by yourself, and you will compose a blog about forensics. This can be a poster or a written blog (add pictures etc…). You can include video recordings of yourself. You must write the work yourself – NO copying and pasting. Also, you’ve been at school for 7 or 8 years now. I expect sentences that make sense, with full stops, and capitals in the correct place. NO messing around. You will work on this and get it done by showing CARR values.

Those were the rules and these were the questions and the answers that Cole and I have put.

What is forensics?  It is where they use scientists to find who committed the crime or who helped with the crime, there are lots of places to do like you can investigate the type of dirt and where they came from or if they were in a lake because there are lots of dirt and they are all different for each other, also there are one that can see there DNA from all different forms like hair, skin, fingerprints, and lot more.

Who was the first forensic scientist? Archimedes was the first forensic scientist that what people say, they say that he was maybe the first forensic scientist but they do not know, Around the 6th century they say that the king ordered a gold crown to be made but he didn’t know if the goldsmith was going to give him a real crown because gold was ever hard to get back in the day, so he asked Archimedes to see if it was real gold or he got cheated out of money, and he wanted Archimedes not to damage the crown.

Who was the first person to be convicted due to fingerprints? The first person that was convicted by fingerprints was a man called John Clancy, John Clancy was convicted in May of 1905. After breaking into someone’s house he left one fingerprint impression on a shard of glass which later led to his conviction.

What is DNA and how is it used to “catch” people – or prove their innocence? The way DNA is used to catch people is that your DNA is your DNA, so this practically means that if they find your DNA at the scene of the crime you’ll be the prime suspect and they’ll find and interrogate you and if they find enough evidence they will convict you and you’ll go to prison.

How does dirt help a forensic scientist? It can tell where they were from and where they came from there are all kinds of dirt they are not all the same, there are different specks of dirt like hard, soft, and lots of other textures there is dirt from the west cost and the north cost they are not the same dirt, like if someone takes a body somewhere they can get the dirt and see where they came from.

How do insects help a forensic scientist? The way that insects help forensic scientists is that the person that is working at the scene of the crime is that they can see how long the corpse has been a corpse. Also, Mosquitoes carry blood and mosquitoes come from different areas of the world so if they trap the mosquitoes from where they came from they can see where the pop or the criminal has been.

My favourite question to write was, who was the first to be convicted due to fingerprints, Felice and I were going back and forth about who was the first person to be convicted and I kept telling her that it was John Clancy and she kept saying no it’s John Jennings but when I told her to keep reading she saw that John Jennings was convicted in 1910. But John Clancy was convicted in 1905 so I won the argument.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have an amazing rest of your day. Bye!
